Cant book flights

One of my main reasons for needing this app is to book flights. When booking a round trip flight the outbound flight options are available but the return flights arent. I spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get the return flights to show before giving up. It shouldnt be this difficult so the app is useless for me.

Buyer beware

The info on the app is not real time. My gate changed after I got to the airport and this app did not update its info and I almost missed my flight by going to the gate it told me I should go to. Had to check the airport info screen to get the right info (now on the opposite end of the airport) and barely made my flight. This app often gets strange "cannot update information" errors which makes it useless in any practical sense. Air Canada needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I thought I’d seen the worst app ever, but then I discovered Air Canada

The app is a poorly designed wrapper for the mobile web site. It expires your session frequently and navigation is obscure. It seems like you’ve never hired a UX team, because who in their right mind bothers an end-user with things like “Your phone is low on memory, please reboot it to continue.” First, this should never be an issue, secondly, what do you think your non-technically savvy users are thinking when they read that? Maybe that their phone is broken even!

Worst Airline App

No support for mobile boarding passes and the ui is sluggish and lacks a nice look and feel.

Okay so the app works but...

The interface is so not Apple its complicating, buggy, out dated, and simply ridiculous. It seemed the effort was lets place iFrames in an iOS app and call it gold... Not quite. Apple Watch support + Passbook keep this review from a 1 star.

App provides the wrong information about flights

Several times the gates and flight times were wrong.

From ok to really bad

The flight side of things seems fine. I had big trouble trying to book a hotel. Errors of various sorts when I tried to book. Repeatedly. I tried different hotels and was unable to complete the simple act of booking. I gave up and booked the hotel through another app. It wasnt a network problem. It was an app problem.

Its your ONLY means of entertainment on this airline

DOWNLOAD days before you board your plane, because quite honestly youll need that much time to download it. Horrible airline....they planned for this app to fail so they can charge you to rent an iPad on board instead. Will not be flying with them ever again

Awful

This app is difficult to set up once youve downloaded and very badly designed. My BRitish Airways app is fantastic: login with Executive Club number and password and you have complete access to all bookings with great management tools. I had to manually enter my Air Canada flight numbers to load them! Its awful, awful, awful.

Useless!

Useless! Checked-in online, and missed the flight! When I spoke to the supervisor, she said "You have to be here earlier" while I had to print my boarding pass due to the Useless app error and not allowing for a iPhone boarding, for some reason. I tried to use the self check-in machine 94 min before the flight but again refused to print anything (Boarding car/bag tags). Stood in the queue for 90 min due to understaffing.

Terrible, inconvenient, and slow

If an airline is aware that Apple phones cant download the app onboard, then they should tell you to download it at the gate PRIOR to boarding. The stewardess tried to tell me that it was a rights issue with Apple, but my husband was also unable to download the app both before we took off and while in flight. She told me Apple phones could only watch tv shows, but that didnt work either. Then they passed out preloaded IPADS (ahem, Apple products) for $10 in case you couldnt download the app inflight. This was all orchestrated so that Air Canada could make money. I will never fly this airline again. 7 hours from Dublin to Toronto without reliable in flight entertainment? Pathetic. Its 2015, guys.

No iPhone 6 and 6+ screen support

A year in and the app still doesnt support the new screen sizes.

The only Apple Watch app that crashes

I’ve been using Apple Watch for half year and this is by far the only app that crashes. First of all, despite of the old fashioned app home page, and that no large screen iPhone adaption, I appreciate that the app comes with a Watch companion. But it is of no use - when the app opens it shows the first future flight with all other info being empty or null. Then as soon as I tap Refresh the app crashes. It also has problem adding a flight into itinerary. After I have searched flights using confirmation number, there’s an Add to Flights button which does absolutely nothing. I finally happened to figure out a hacky way to add the flights.

Hard to use and bug riddled

One of the worst user experiences Ive encountered in a while.

Abysmal

Looks dated, clunky. Feels like a half baked container for their mobile website and not much more.

Why no electronic boarding pass built-in

App works fine, but why on Earth cant there be an option, after check-in, to have an electronic boarding pass available via the app?!? Lazy programming? Poor executive knowledge of modern UX? Id happily consult with you on this.

Worst all ever

Nothing like typing in entire reservation details and then having it lose the connection at the end. It doesnt save anything you enter, so if you switch apps, have the screen go blank, or mess up, youre probably screwed!

Unable to look up flight via booking number

I receive a 500 error when I try to look up my flight via my booking number.

Feels unfinished

User experience is not great. Cant see aeroplan balance in Passbook. Cant see altitude stuff. Doesnt support higher screen sizes. Outdated look and feel. Needs work!

Cant check in

Cant check in on mobile device unless you are flying from Canadian airspace. Much like your custom requirements I guess you dont want to make it easy for visitors to enter your country. Wish I wasnt flying Air Canada, but only option through star alliance. Fix your App!
